People Will Tell You It's Wrong, But It's Probably Not

When I was young, I was told not to commit any wrongdoings, for it would probably leave me with regret for the rest of my life. I had kept that in mind until that one day when another thought made its way into my head. That one thought that contradicts to what I used to believe.

What did I believe in? Well.... I was a kid who didn't know how to view things from my own perspective. I was not sure whether I didn't have one or I was just too young and dumb to do it. I could not define what was right, nor could I define what was wrong. I let people around me instill their thoughts into mine. I took their definitions in without doubts. I allowed fear to take its place, the fear of being wrong. In other words, I was scared of doing things that others consider wrong. To sum it up, I believed in others' beliefs; that's the answer.

As I grew up, I started wishing I had asked the question 'how?' instead of saying 'okay' all the time, for I began wondering how people tell when something is wrong. I could only tell that killing people is wrong; breaking the law is wrong; those were pretty obvious to me, to everybody, but how about something that is not written into law? Something that is never generalized as wrong? Something that only you yourself can define? How can they tell?

That question got harder to answer when there came the moment when most of things I had believed to be wrong all my life made me feel so right. You know what? I used to be told not to take risk in life, for doing something out of what we call ordinary life would lead me to danger, regret, and disappointment. I used to be told that it's wrong, but what they considered wrong is the same thing that has brought me to where I'm standing right now, and I haven't seen anything wrong about taking risk in life at all. Not until then did I realize I would never be able to find a true answer to my question.

People told me this was wrong, and that was wrong. They told me it's not the right time. Sometimes, they don't tell me anything, but their expression says it all. It says everything about it is wrong, but at the same time, someone told me that the world isn't what it is but what it might be, and what we think is right could be wrong to others; it depends upon how we think and what we believe in. I might not find a true answer to my question. However, I have found what is true to me; I have found what I believe in. I don't believe in wrong timing. I believe in waiting for the right time. People are going to tell me it's wrong, but it's possibly been right all along or probably, it will be.

'Wrong Timing' TEASER

‘There is always a voice coming out of nowhere along with the soft and slow guitar melody. It’s like a sound from heaven. The first time I heard it, I thought I was dreaming, but then I realized it was too real to be a dream, and it would have disappointed me very much if it really had been one.”
..
..
..
..
..
..
..
‘That voice is so addictive that it irritates me for not being able to see the person who possesses that precious gift. As the attempt of finding out who she really is had failed too many times, I came up with a thought that she was not a normal human-being.’

‘But is she really a ghost or am I just always at the wrong timing?’

You are my endless memory: episode 40 "Reminded"

.............................................................................
She fell to the ground because of exhaustion and disappointment that she had come just a little too late. Jumi’s tears started to flow down once again......
“Joon! There’s no way we’re going to meet again.”
Jumi thought back of the memories and the moments they had shared, that the tears flowed down even harder. Suddenly, someone walked from behind and spoke out surprisingly......
“Jumi! Ho.... How c... How come you’re here?”
Once Jumi heard the familiar voice, she turned around with tears all over her face and exclaimed......
“Joon!!! It’s you. It really is you.”
She smiled, while the tears were still falling down, and said....
“It’s really good to see you again.”
She said and tried her best to stand up even though it’s hard to do so. Joon stared at Jumi’s pale face, which was soaking wet with sweat, and said....
“But how could you turn out like this? and... W... What are you doing here?”
Jumi started to feel dizzy. She gathered her last strength to smile and responded to Joon.....
“J....Joo....Joon! Ple... Please don’t go!”
End of words, she fell to the ground, but Joon suddenly grabbed her, and exclaimed out of panic....
“Jumi!!! Jumi!!!”
Joon ended up standing in front of a patient room at a hospital and waiting for the result. He sighed out of worry. Suddenly, the doctor walked out of the room. Joon rushed toward him and asked.....
“Doctor! Is she okay now?”
“You don’t have to worry. She’s fine now.”
He sighed and continued....
“However, it looks like her health is so weak. Has she ever experienced a serious illness and received treatment for that?”
“Serious illness?”
(((((“I will die if I don't get the surgery done.".............................................................. "Joon! I will die. I will leave you forever."......................)))))

A flashback suddenly stroke in Joon’s mind, and he started to feel the pain in his head..........
“Sir! Sir! Are you okay?”
The doctor asked as he noticed something had gone wrong with Joon. Joon nodded and responded with a smile.....
“I’m... I’m fine.”
Once the doctor left, Joon walked into the room and took a seat next to Jumi who were lying unconsciously on the bed. He stared at her without a blink and grabbed her hand slowly..........
“Have a rest, Jumi. I will always be by your side. I’m not going anywhere, I promise.”
...............................................................
Jumi opened her eyes slightly and looked around. Then she realized she was in a hospital room. Jumi thought back of the last person whom she had seen before she lost the consciousness, and that was none other than Joon. She looked around, but he was nowhere to be seen. Jumi got up and walked off the bed, but she suddenly felt dizzy and lost her balance. As she was about to fall, someone, out of nowhere, immediately grabbed her. He stared at her as she had lifted her head slowly to see who he was. The guy spoke out.......
“Where do you think you’re going?”
Jumi turned away and responded.......
“I..... I...... I just want to go outside.”
“No, you can’t go outside in this condition. Just stay here. I’ll bring you food.”
Joon went outside for a moment and came back with a tray filled with a bowl of porridge and a glass of water. He sat down besides Jumi who was staring at him in a blank expression. Joon was trying to feed Jumi when she suddenly said out.....
“It’s okay Joon. I can eat that by myself.”
She took the spoon from Joon and ate the porridge on her own. After a moment of silence, Jumi spoke out in a low voice.....
“Joon!!!”
“Hmmm?”
“You... You... You’re not going to England?”
Joon smiled a little bit and responded.....
“How can I be here if I’m going to England? Anyway, weren’t you at the airport to ask me not to go?”
Jumi recalled the moment and turned her face away. She continued in her soft voice......
“I was very selfish, wasn’t I? I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have asked you to stay. This is my fault.”
After being silent for a moment, Joon replied......
“Frankly, I didn’t really want to go back to England, so it’s a good thing you were there.”
“Why didn’t you want to go back?”
Joon smiled and said.....
“At the last minute, I recalled the memories I’ve had here, and it made me realize how much I wanted to stay.”
Jumi turned to him with a little astonishment. Joon stared straight at her and continued.........
“One more thing is I haven’t done something I’ve always wanted to do yet, and I came to realize that if I don’t manage to do it, I will regret it for the rest of my life.”
Joon smiled and turned to Jumi who was staring straight at him............................
......................................................
A week had passed, and Jumi was finally discharged from the hospital. Despite the fact that Jumi was absent from class more often, things mostly stayed the same. It was another day at school, and Jumi was walking in the school campus when someone walked toward her and said....
“Good morning, Jumi.”
Jumi turned to him and replied with a smile....
“Good morning, Joon.”
“You’re quite early today.”
“Really? Ah.... My mum had to drive pass the school today, so she dropped me here. That’s why.”
“Ahh.. I see.”
“Anyway, I’ve never seen Rena lately.”
Joon replied...
“Rena? She went back to England yesterday.”
“For real? Why?”
“I don’t really know why, and she asked me to give you this.”
Joon said and handed Jumi a small letter. Jumi took it from Joon and stared at it for a while before putting it into her bag...........
.................................
“”Dear Jumi,
I’m writing this to apologize for the trouble I’ve caused. I just want to let you know that I did it just because I love Joon; I loved him so much that I didn’t want to lose him to lose him to anyone, but i guess that was useless as his heart does not belong to me. Jumi, please take care of Joon. I’m sure you can keep him happy. I hope you forgive me.””
Jumi put down the letter and sighed because she could feel the pain of Rena while reading the letter......
.................................................
One evening of May, Jumi was sitting on the swing in the park with Kei beside her. As she was staring at the kids playing in the playground, Kei spoke out....
“Jumi, may I ask you something?”
She turned to him and responded....
“Sure, Kei. Go ahead.”
Kei looked down at the ground and said.....
“Ummm.... About you and Joon, how’s everything?”
Jumi smiled a little bit and replied.....
“Everything has happened the way it’s supposed to be. I’m still trying to figure out why he has forgotten everything, but I guess that is useless. In spite of the fact that he does not remember me and what we went through together, he’s so much the same as who he was.”
“Don’t you think you should tell him everything?”
Jumi looked at the ground and responded with a smile.....
“I don’t see why I should do so. He’s not going to remember anyway. He would just be reminded, but never remember.”
“But at least you’re going to free yourself from the pain of keeping it inside.”
“Feeling the pain alone is always better then feeling the pain altogether.”
“What do you mean by that? He won’t feel the pain just remembering things he had been through with you.”
Jumi looked away and tried to change the topic.....
“It’s getting dark, Kei. Come on! Let’s go home.”
She stood up and stared at him with a cold smile. Kei sighed and followed her..............
....................................................................

“Mum! I’m home!”
Joon took of his shoes and walked toward his mum in the kitchen. Her mum smiled and responded.....
“Go have your bath dear. I will make the dinner done for you.”
“Alright, mum.”
After bath, Joon came down stair and took a seat at the dining table. While staring at Joon eating, his mum spoke out.....
“Joon, how’s school?”
“School’s great. Everyone has been very nice to me.”
“Ummm... That’s good. Oh by the way, how’s Jumi?”
Joon responded.....
“She’s already discharged from hospital, and she has come back to school now.”
“Joon, is Jumi the reason why you decided not to go back to England?”
Joon put the spoon and fork down and replied......
“No, mum... I.. just.....”
Joon’s mum sighed and replied......
“Do not lie to me, Joon. By the way, your doctor just told me that......................................................................”

What music really means to me

Almost all the time, I need music to show the world something I'm too shy to say and too afraid to share. I take music seriously. That is why music is not only lyric and melody to me. It expresses so many things which can only be seen by some specific people. Sometimes, when a song is played, I keep having a feeling that it's more than just a song.

You are my endless memory: episode 39 "For you, I can disappear"

......................................

Without a word, Joon snatched his arm from Rena’s hand and dragged Jumi with him, without caring that Rena and Kei were staring at him and Jumi with their eyes wide opened. Joon dragged Jumi to a silent place and let go of her hand slowly. He spoke out.........

“Jumi! I know you’ve got your own reasons for trying to keep a distance from me but can’t you just stop ignoring me? I.... I.... really don’t understand. What’s the point of doing that?”

Jumi clenched her both fists and responded while staring at the ground......

“I...... I...... just want to be alone for a while.”

Joon grabbed her shoulder and said.....

“Jumi! You’re lying!”

Jumi looked into Joon’s eyes, which were full of pain, and tried to hold back her tears. She responded expressionlessly......

“I’m saying the truth! Joon, after all these times, you still don’t get the point of me doing this?”

“You..... Do you hate me that much?”

A question from Joon almost made Jumi burst into tears but she tried her best to stay calm. She replied......

“Joon! It doesn’t matter whether I hate you or not. It’s just.......”

“It does matter to me!”

Joon suddenly interrupted. He continued.....

“Just telling that you hate me, then I will stay away from you and I will never ask you for any reasons why you’ve been ignoring me anymore.”

Jumi suddenly felt like being stabbed. Her heart was already broken into pieces but she kept on acting normal. She stated while staring straight at Joon........

“Right! I hate you! I hate you for involving in my life. I hate you!!!”

Joon stared at Jumi expressionlessly and responded..........

“I’m sorry!”

“Joon!......”

He continued......

“I’m sorry for the troubles I’ve caused. I’m sorry for the tears you’ve cried. I’m sorry for having been involving in your life ever since the start. I’m truly sorry.”

Jumi stared at Joon’s expression while listening to his words and realized she couldn’t hold back her tears anymore. She turned her back at Joon and spoke out normally with a teardrop on her cheek, without being seen by anyone.......

“Stop apologizing! No one is at fault here. I’ve just been thinking that it would be nice if we hadn’t happened to know each other from the first place.”

Jumi said and was about to walk away because her tears seemed to become out of control anytime but she suddenly stopped by Joon’s words.......

“You’re right! I should have realized from the first place that I’ve been such a burden. Alright! You won’t have to feel my existence anymore because for you, I can disappear.”

A last word from Joon was enough to break Jumi’s heart into pieces and her tears, which had been held inside, suddenly burst out uncontrollably. She ran away, leaving Joon, who was standing alone with his both hands shaking. Jumi started to run faster and faster in her Kimono with her tears flowing on her both cheeks. Immediately she tripped over a rock and fell to the grass. Jumi cried even harder. Not because she was hurt physically but she was hurt inside. It was too painful until she couldn’t hold back her tears and cry silently, like she usually does. Meanwhile Rena was looking for Joon while Kei was looking for Jumi...........

“Jumi! Jumi! Where are you??? Jumi!!!”

Kei had been walking around and looking for Jumi for quite a while. Later, he ended up at a silent place and saw Jumi sitting and crying on the grass alone. At first, he thought of going in and asking her for the reasons why she had been crying but then he had realized it would have been better to let her crying alone for a little while so he just stood still and stared at her from a distance with an uneasy feeling. Meanwhile Rena was hiding in a corner and staring at Joon, who was hitting the tree with tears rolling on his cheeks, in shock...................

Jumi’s diary entry

“I got to say I hate him even though I love him to death. I got to let him go no matter how much I want him to stay. I got to get over him even though he’s all I want to remember. Everything is over, even this little endless memory of mine.”

.............................................................

Jumi walked into the classroom slowly while everyone had already been there, except for someone. Jumi stared at Joon’s seat, which was empty, and took a seat beside that with a little pain inside. Immediately, the class monitor ran into the classroom rapidly and gasped. She turned to everyone and announced....

“Guys! I’ve got a bad news. Joon! Joon! He... He’s going to transfer back to England.”

Everyone sadly exclaimed.....

“Eh??? Why???”

“I don’t know. I just bumped into him earlier at the head office and he just........”

As the class monitor was talking, everyone suddenly turned to the door and a tall guy in uniform was standing there with a smile. Then he walked in and spoke out....

“Hello everyone! I’m here right now to bid you guys my last farewell.”

“Noooooo....”

Joon smiled and continued.....

“It hasn’t been long since the first time we met but you all have given me so much to remember. Thanks for all the memories. I promise that no matter how long it takes from now, I will never ever forget it. Please be strong and stay healthy.”

Joon said and bowed a little bit. He lifted his head up slowly and stared at Jumi, who was staring straight back at him expressionlessly. Jumi suddenly turned away and stared at her book on the desk instead since she had known that, if she kept staring at him for only a minute more, her tears would have fallen down uncontrollably for sure. Someone in the classroom suddenly spoke out......

“Joon! You’re not going to tell us the reason why you’re suddenly leaving like this?”

Joon smiled and replied to that.....

“Actually, I really want to stay and I’ve never wanted to go back but the situation forced me to so it’s just leaving me no choice.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~RING~~~~~~~~~~~RING~~~~~~~~~~~~
Immediately, the school bell was ringed. Joon spoke out.....
“Well.... It’s time. Goodbye everyone! We’ll meet again one day. I’m going to miss you all.”
He smiled sweetly and walked away, leaving some people crying out loud, some was sobbing and some was staring sadly. Suddenly the class monitor yelled.....
“Wait Joon! When are you going to leave?”
Joon turned around and said with a smile.....
“Tomorrow evening, at 5 o’clock.”
A pen, which had been in Jumi’s hand, was suddenly dropped out of her hand. She kept staying still and staring at her book, without moving, because if she had moved just a little bit, the tears in her eyes would have fallen down for sure.................
........................................................
Joon collected his stuffs from the locker and put them in his bag slowly. The locker turned empty because its owner would have to leave. Joon walked slowly in the silent hallway alone since everyone had already been in their classrooms. He stepped forward one by one and looked around. It hadn’t been long since he first transferred into that school but Joon seemed to be attached to the environment there already. Joon stood still in front of the music room and looked, through the door, at the white piano by the window. The twilight, which was shining brightly on the piano, reminded him of someone. A picture of a girl playing that piano and the sound of “My memory” were being played again and again in Joon’s thought. He opened the door and walked toward the piano slowly. He wrote something on a note and stuck it on the piano. Then he grabbed his bag and left..........
.............................................
“Hey!”
Joon turned around by the calling of someone while he was heading home. Haru took off his helmet and said with a smile......
“Remember me, don’t you?”
After all, they both ended up sitting in a park nearby. Haru spoke out........
“Why are you leaving school so early?”
“I’m not a student there anymore.”
Haru suddenly exclaimed......
“What? You drop out?”
“Yeah...... I’m going back to England.”
“Are you serious? What about Jumi? You’re leaving her?”
Joon was stunned by Haru’s question. He kept calm and answered.......
“She will be fine without me.”
“Are you sure she will?”
Joon was stunned once again. He responded......
“Yeah I’m sure. Why are you asking me those kinds of question?”
“I just want to make sure that Jumi will really be fine without you.”
“Without me, she’s got you and others then she’ll be fine.”
Haru looked up at the sky and said with a smile.......
“Someone can’t be replaced by someone else.”
Haru stood up and said the last word to Joon.......
“People lie and hide for others’ sake. Maybe you’ve got to figure out a little bit more before doing something in order to avoid regretting later or maybe hurting someone unintentionally. Goodbye and Good luck!”
He smiled and left, leaving Joon who was considering his words with disorder feeling................
.........................................
“Hey! Did you hear that Joon’s going back to England?”
“What??? For real?”
The news of Joon leaving back to England had been spread around the campus. Kei, who was walking out of his classroom, also accidentally heard that. The first person, who crossed his mind, was Jumi. He thought of her and sighed. Kei walked toward Jumi’s classroom, where was next to his, and saw her putting her stuff neatly into her bag. After bowing gently and smiling sweetly to her classmates, Jumi walked out of the room with her pink bag on the shoulder........
“Hey Jumi!”
“Kei! Why are you still here? You’re not going home?”
“I’m waiting for you.”
He said and smiled. Jumi smiled and replied.....
“Let’s go then.”
As they both were walking together in the campus, the news about Joon were still being talked all everywhere around. Kei secretly watched Jumi and noticed that her expression was still the same, calm and cold. He spoke out cordially.....
“Jumi! Do you want to stop by the ice-cream shop and grab something?”
Jumi replied with a smile......
“Maybe later, Kei. I’m a little bit unwell today so I’ve got to head home right away.”
“Oh ok then.”
Jumi said and continued walking. At that moment, Kei realized that she was not fine as how she looked after all........
.......................................
During one late night of spring, a tall guy was standing in front of a big house and staring at the dark room, with a verandah, on the second floor. He kept staring even though the light had already been turned off and it meant that the person in that room had already fallen asleep. Meanwhile, Jumi, who was lying on the bed in her dark bedroom, was staring at the ceiling with her eyes wide opened. She kept sighing because she couldn’t think of any ways to put herself to sleep. Jumi woke up slowly and turned on the light. She walked to her verandah and looked down at the house gate. There was totally no one. She sighed and turned to look at the stars in the blank sky. After a moment, she walked back into the room while someone was secretly watching her from behind the light pole............
Jumi’s diary entry.....
“”No matter how far you are, I still feel you’re here with me because at least we’re still under the same starry sky.””
......................................................
“Jumi! Is Joon really going back to England?”
A senior asked Jumi while she was cleaning the piano in the music room. She tried to stay normal and answered with a smile.....
“Yeah senpai! He’s leaving today and the flight might be taking off at 5 o’clock.”
The senior took a look at the watch on her hand and spoke out.....
“It’s already 4:20. He’s going to leave soon. Hmmmmm.....”
Jumi’s heart was almost broken into pieces but she just kept on acting like nothing’s wrong. Jumi kept on cleaning the piano until she found a very small note inside the piano, sticking on a string. She exclaimed in a low voice......
“What’s this?”
She brought it out and read it......
((Jumi! Thanks for all the memories. I will treasure them well, including you since you're already my endless memory. Joon....))
A tear dripped on the note. A little word was strong enough to make Jumi burst into tears. Without a word, she ran rapidly out of the room, without caring about people’s callings from behind. She ran out of the school and called out the taxi. She got on and said to the driver.....
“To the airport. Please drive fast! I’m really in a hurry!”
Jumi was sitting in the car with an uneasy feeling. Unfortunately, the car was stuck in the traffic jam and was unable to move forward. Jumi spoke out in panic.....
“What’s wrong?”
“I’m sorry miss. I don’t think we can make it on time. The traffic is really bad today.”
It left Jumi no choice. She handed the driver the money and said.....
“Alright! I’m off here. Thank you.”
She got off the car and continued running to the airport which was about 1 kilometer away. She kept running faster and faster until she eventually arrived at the airport with sweat all over her face. Jumi took a look at the watch on her hand and it was already 4:55. She continued running until she reached the departure board. Jumi looked up and realized Joon’s flight had already taken off. She fell to the ground because of exhaustion and disappointment that she had come just a little too late. Jumi’s tears started to flow down once again......
“Joon! There’s no way we’re going to meet again.”
You are my endless memory: episode 38 "Letting go"
..........................................
Without any response, Joon just kept staring at the floor with his hands shaking. Meanwhile, Jumi was secretly watching them with her tears flowing like a river. She opened her eyes widely and covered her mouth with her hand in order to prevent her sobbing sound to be heard.............
“I don’t want anyone to get hurt, neither you nor Jumi. I’m sorry for hurting you, Rena! You can put all the blame on me but please conclude everything here. Jumi, she’s hurt enough. I.... I.... I just don’t want to see her being hurt anymore. I can do whatever you want me to as long as you’re not going to hurt Jumi again.”
“JOON!!! STOP IT!”
Joon and Rena suddenly turned to the door as they had heard a girl’s voice. Jumi, who had been standing still by the door with tears flowing all over her face, sobbed and spoke out......
“You don’t have to do this. You don’t have to take all the blame. You don’t have to go down on your knee. You don’t have to beg and you don’t have to tell her not to hurt me anymore. Joon! I can handle it. I can handle everything. You shouldn’t be doing all these things.”
Joon responded......
“I’m just doing what I have to. Don’t tell me not to do it.”
Jumi stared at him with eyes full of pain and yelled.......
“Don’t you know that it’s annoying??? You think I was hurt because of you and her. Actually, I was not! So you should just stop doing these. They are nothing but useless.”
Rena was a bit surprised that Jumi had said something like that out. Joon turned slowly to Jumi and responded with a smile......
“Alright! I’m sorry for being annoying. From now on, I won’t annoy you anymore.”
Joon said and tried to stand back up but he suddenly collapsed and lost conscious. Jumi turned to him and yelled with her eyes wide opened.....
“JOON!!!!!”
She suddenly ran toward him and held him in her arms. Jumi shook him and said with tears flowing.....
“Joon!!! Joon!!! Wake up! Joon!!!”
Eventually, Jumi and Rena ended up at the hospital after trying their best to take Joon there......
“Doctor! How is Joon?”
Jumi immediately ran toward the doctor and asked as soon as he walked out of the patient room. The doctor responded.....
“He’s fine now. He caught a serious cold but he didn’t take a rest. His temperature kept going up and caused him to collapse but he’s ok now. You don’t have to worry anymore.”
Jumi bowed and said.....
“Thank you so much.”
As the doctor had left, Jumi stared at Joon’s unconscious body on the bed through the mirror window with her tears flowing non-stop. Without looking at Jumi, Rena just walked straight into the room but Jumi suddenly grabbed her hand and said.......
“Please don’t mention about me in front of Joon anymore. I will do as you said. I will stay away from him. I will never get close to him again but please do not ever make him hurt or sad. I’m leaving now. Take a good care of him.”
Jumi let Rena hand go and walked away without turning back. She seemed strong from the back but in fact she had been crying until she almost ran out of tears already......
((Even though it’s hard to carry on, I still have to do this. I’m sorry Joon. I’ve never wanted to do it but it just left me no choice. We’ve been walking through the same road for quite long but now we already reach the separate way and it’s also time to say goodbye. Goodbye my endless memory!))
........................................................................
A few days had passed and Joon was fully recovered. He was back to school and realized many things had been changed. Jumi had moved to sit at the back where was far away from him. She had been acting as if they were strangers. She walked pass him, without even taking a glimpse at him. Her eyes and expressions were totally changed. Her smile had faded away by times. Jumi had turned into someone, who was not as cheerful as usual..........
One day of spring, Jumi was walking out of the school campus alone while Joon was following her. She turned around and realized Joon had been walking toward her. She looked around and accidentally saw Haru driving pass there......
“Haru senpai!!!”
Haru suddenly stopped his motorbike and said....
“Oh hey Jumi!”
Without any words, Jumi walked toward Haru and said.....
“Haru senpai! Could you give me a lift?”
Haru smiled and responded......
“Sure! Hop on!”
Jumi took a glimpse at Joon and got on Haru’s motorbike. Haru could feel something strange between Jumi and Joon. He took a look at Joon, who was staring straight at Jumi, and drove away. Joon had been staring at them until he lost sight of them without realizing Rena had been standing and watching him from a corner. 10 minutes later, Jumi ended up sitting on a bench at the park. A while later, Haru walked in with 2 cups of hot chocolate. He handed one to Jumi and took a seat next to her. Jumi accepted it and said....
“Thank you Haru senpai.”
Haru stared at her for a second and said.......
“Jumi! May I ask you something?”
“Sure! Go ahead!”
“Is there anything wrong between you and that flower boy?”
Jumi looked away and pretended to not know who Haru had referred to....
“Flower boy? Who?”
“The one who followed you earlier.”
Jumi replied in a low voice....
“You mean Joon?”
“Yeah!”
Jumi escaped Haru’s eyes and said....
“No. There’s nothing wrong.”
“For real??? Then does that mean you guys ended your friendship?”
Jumi suddenly exclaimed......
“Yeah???”
Haru smiled and responded......
“A girl, who used to take risk in order to stop a guy from fighting, is ignoring him. Doesn’t that mean your friendship ended?”
“No.... It’s not something like that, senpai.”
“Then what’s wrong? Your eyes are telling me that you’re lying.”
Jumi sighed and said....
“What can I hide from you?”
“Hiding and enduring the pain alone is not the best solution. You should just let it out sometimes.”
Jumi looked at the kids, who were playing in the playground, and said......
“There are moments in life when we have to let something go, even it’s important or even it gives us so much meaning to hold on to. And it seems like I’m standing right in that moment. I have to let him go to somewhere he can find the meaning of his life without me.”
Haru stared at her and replied......
“You think he can be happy without you? Taking a look at his expression just now, I seem to know that he’s not fine without you after all.”
Jumi smiled and responded......
“He was not but sooner or later he will. I’m able to let him go even though he’s so important to me. The same for him, one day he will be able to let me go as well.”
Haru stared at Jumi’s smiling face and couldn’t describe how hard she had been through to put that fake smile up on her face.........
............................................................
“Joon senpai! What’s wrong? You’ve been looking distracted recently. Is something bothering you?”
Misa talked to Joon, who was sitting alone on a bench in the school garden. Joon turned to her and responded.....
“Well..... Nothing really. I’ve just been a little bit tired recently.”
“Ah I see. Anyway, why are you alone? Where’s Jumi senpai? I haven’t seen her around for a while.”
Joon smiled and replied........
“She’s kind of busy. Alright! I’ve got to go now. Good bye Misa!”
He said and walked away. Misa stared at him and couldn’t help noticing something strange when Jumi was mentioned.........................
...............................................................
“Hey guys! Culture festival is coming.”
“Yeah yeah! It’s going to be fun.”
“Pretty girls in Yukata Kimono (a kind of Japanese traditional cotume)! Wow!!!”
It looked like everyone was excited about the coming culture festival, except for Joon and Jumi, who were sitting silently in the room full of noise. Time had passed by slowly and it was already time to go home. Jumi put her school supplements in her bag and walked to the door. As she was walking expressionlessly, someone slowly followed her and then came to walk beside her. Jumi was kind of distracted and she couldn’t even tell someone had been walking beside her and staring at her until he spoke out......
“Where’s your spirit, Jumi?”
Jumi suddenly turned astonished. He turned to her left side and exclaimed....
“Kei! You surprised me!”
“I did? It’s not like I surprise you but you were distracted by yourself. Something’s wrong?”
Jumi smiled and responded....
“Nahhh... Nothing.”
“Ahhh... Is that so?”
Kei smiled and replied....
“Anyway, are you coming to culture festival?”
“Um.... Let me think.”
“You have to come, ok?”
Jumi seemed hesitant....
“Well.... Um....”
“I want to see you in Kimono so you have to come.”
Kei said and smiled cutely. Jumi couldn’t help and smiled at Kei’s childish expression. Meanwhile, Joon was watching them from a distance expressionlessly........
......................................
A few days had passed and the culture festival finally came......
“My little girl looks so much like a pretty grown-up woman today.”
Jumi’s mother, who was tying up Jumi’s baby pink Yutaka Kimono, looked at her in the mirror and praised. Jumi, whose hair was tied up as a bun with a diamond butterfly clip, smiled and said.....
“Your Kimono is so pretty. You must be looking very beautiful in it.”
“Not as beautiful as you my dear.”
Suddenly, the door bell was ringed. Jumi turned to her mother and said....
“Maybe Kei’s already arrived. Mum! I’m going now. Take care!”
“Ok... You too dear. Be careful!”
As Jumi opened the door, a tall guy was standing and turning his back at the door. Jumi smiled and said....
“Kei! Let’s go!”
As he turned around and saw Jumi, he suddenly turned stiff and stared at her without a blink. Jumi waved her hand in front of his face and said....
“Kei! Are you ok???”
“Oh??? Yeah, I am. Jumi! You..... look... so pretty today.”
Jumi smiled and responded.....
“Thank you.”
After walking to the festival and enjoying the festival for a while, Kei spoke out.....
“Jumi! The fireworks will be up soon. Let’s go and find a place to sit.”
“Um... Alright.”
As they were looking for a place to sit, they suddenly bumped into Joon, who was walking with Rena, who was hanging on to his arm. The 4 of them suddenly stopped. Joon stared at Jumi who was staring back at him expressionlessly. After seconds, Jumi turned to Kei and said....
“Kei! Let’s go!”
She grabbed Kei’s hand and dragged him out of there. As Jumi was ignoring Joon and walking pass him without caring to take a glimpse at him, he suddenly grabbed her hand and caused her to stop walking. Jumi turned to Joon and said expressionlessly.....
“Let go of my hand!”
Without any responses, Joon just kept on holding her hand. Meanwhile, Rena and Kei were surprisingly staring at them in the same expressions. Jumi sighed and said in a bit heavy tone of voice.....
“I said let go of my hand!!!”
Kei, who couldn’t stand watching the situation, suddenly yelled.....
“Hey! She told you to let go of her hand. Don’t you hear that?”
Without a word, Joon snatched his arm from Rena’s hand and dragged Jumi with him, without caring that Rena and Kei were staring at him and Jumi with their eyes wide opened............
