You are my Endless Memory: episode 19 "The pain that he's hiding"

"Joon! I can't leave you like this."

She grabbed Joon's hand and put his arm around her neck. Jumi tried her best to lift Joon up and took him to the infirmary....

"Joon! Just endure a little bit more. We're almost there."

Since Jumi was smaller than Joon, it was very hard for her to lift him up and take him to the infirmary. But no matter what, she tried her best stepping forward slowly until reaching there. Unfortunately, no one was in the infirmary. Jumi put Joon down on a bed. Jumi took a seat beside the bed. She touched his forehead and realized his fever was rising up. She took a towel and cold water to prevent Joon's fever. She cleaned Joon's face slightly with the wet towel. But he didn't stop sweating. Jumi couldn't do anything, she decided to take off his thick school jacket in order to clean his arms. Though Jumi lifted Joon up to take off his jacket, but Joon was still sleeping without being awaken. He seemed extremely exhausted. After taking off Joon's jacket, what Jumi saw really surprised her. There was a large bruise on Joon's right arm. She thought back of the time when he had fought with the students from another school, when he had been avoiding using his right arm, when he had wrinkled his eyebrow as it was touched, when he had tried to do the test with his right hand, when he had tried to smile even he's hurt......

End of thinking, a teardrop dripped on Joon's hand. Jumi was burst into tears.............

"Joon! You used to tell me to concern about myself? But why? why don't you concern about yourself?"

She held Joon's hand tightly and said.....

"Joon! Please get better soon."

She took a wet towel and put it on Joon's forehead.......

As time passing by, it was already 4 o'clock in the evening. Joon opened his eyes slowly. He felt something cold on his forehead. He looked around and saw Jumi sleeping on a chair beside him. He looked at her and smiled. Suddenly she woke up and exclaimed............

"Joon!!! You're awake! Are you feeling better now?"

"Yes! I think I am!"

Jumi felt his forehead with her hand...

"Hmmm... Your fever seems to have gone down already."

Jumi was too worried until forgetting that Joon and her were just classmates in this moment. She backed away her hand quickly and stood up....

"Since you're feeling better now, I'm going. Take care!"

Once Jumi was about to leave, Joon grabbed her hand tightly and said while looking at the bandage on his right arm....

"Jumi! You found out about this?"

"Hmmm... Yeah! I'm sorry for taking off your jacket without your permission. You looked exhausted and your fever was really strong. I dare not to wake you up. You shouldn't have come to school in this condition."

Without letting Jumi's hand go, Joon continued with a low voice.....

"Jumi! I'm sorry!"

Jumi responded....

"Joon! Why are you apologizing? It's not your fault that you are hurt. I'm the one who should be apologizing. You're like this because of me. Joon! I'm so sorry!"

"Jumi! It's not your fault when I am the one who was careless by myself."

"Joon!!!"

Jumi looked at him in teary eyes. Seeing Jumi almost burst into tear, Joon smiled and said happily in order to prevent her from crying.........

"Oh well.... At least I'm better now. Jumi! Let's go home together."..........................

A windy day of autumn, Joon and Jumi were walking together along a street full of big trees. The wind was blowing Jumi's long black hair. She crossed her arms since it was so cold. Joon looked at her and said......

"Jumi! The winter is coming and the weather is getting cold. You might catch a cold. You should put on the scarf and gloves."

Jumi smiled and looked up at the leaves on the tree. She responded.......

"Once I put on the scarf and gloves, it means winter has already come. I just want to feel the wind and enjoy this lovely autumn a little bit more."

Joon smiled and kept walking with her until they reached the separated street. Jumi spoke out....

"Good bye, Joon! Take care! Don't forget to take pill regularly and go to bed early. Tomorrow you don't have to go to school. I will inform teacher about it. Take a rest tomorrow and don't use your right arm too much."

Joon laughed and responded...

"Yes.. Yes... Jumi! You're like a mother."

Jumi smiled...

"Really? I feel like one as well. I'm going now. Good bye again."

Jumi turned around and walked away.

"Wait Jumi!"

She turned back...

"Thank you for today."

Jumi smiled at him and left. Joon touched his right arm slightly and smiled........

Jumi's diary entry....

"Joon was hurt. I couldn't do anything much. I just wish him to get better soon. I was so bad. I should have realized he was hurt from the start. It just hurt me so much seeing him in pain like that."..................

Tomorrow morning....

Jumi took a seat at her desk and looked at the empty seat beside hers....

"Joon! You must be resting right now. I'm sure quite a bit lonely without you. Please recover soon.".................

1 month later.....

Winter has finally come. Each student was wearing thick coat, scarf and gloves in order to keep warm. Everyone was getting excited about the coming Christmas day. Jumi was walking in the school hall when someone ran toward her and said...

"Jumi senpai!"

"Misa! It's been long. How are you?"

"I'm good thanks. Senpai! Christmas is coming. Do you have any plans?"

"Well.... No. What about you, Misa?"

"Me neither! But I wanna buy some gifts. Senpai! Would you like to go shopping after class today?".............

After class......

"Senpai! Let's go!"

Jumi and Misa were having fun shopping for Christmas gifts. Jumi suddenly paused once she had seen a pair of white winter gloves in a shop. She kept looking at them until Misa came and dragged her to another shop....

"Senpai! Isn't this scarf pretty?"

Misa said while bringing up a sapphire blue scarf....

"Yeah it is!"

"Really? So I'm going to buy this."

"Misa! Are you buying it for someone special?"

Misa looked a bit shy. She replied...

"Yes! This is for someone very special."

They had been shopping until the sun was setting. Having done shopping, they were heading home. Misa spoke out...

"Senpai! Can I ask you something?"

Jumi responded....

"Sure! Go ahead!"

"What is the relationship between you and Joon senpai?"

Jumi was kind of shocked. She responded with a smile...

"There is nothing special between us."

"Really? But most of the time, I've noticed that Joon senpai always appear where you are."

"Hmmm... Those must be coincidences. We're just classmates. There really is nothing between us."

"Is that so? Then it's a relief!"

Jumi exclaimed....

"Relief?"

"Ahhh..... Nothing senpai. Hehe"

Misa responded and chuckled. Jumi decided to ask....

"Misa! Do.... you.... like... Joon????"
