You are my Endless Memory: episode 21 ""A moment without him""

Jumi was extremely shocked as she saw Misa was looking at her diary. She almost dropped the cookie and milk out of her hands. She tried to turn back to normal and spoke out calmly in order to avoid making the situation even worse....

"Misa!!!"

"Ah! Senpai!"

As Misa saw Jumi was holding a tray of cookies and milk in her both hands, she put the book down and walked toward Jumi to help her. Immediately, Jumi walked to the bed. She grabbed her diary and quickly put it under her pillow. She tried to say something to distract Misa from the diary....

"Well... Misa! Let's have some of my mum's home-made cookies."

Misa had a bite of the cookie and exclaimed....

"It's really yummy!"

Jumi smiled faintly and continued....

"Misa! How's the school life?"

Misa smiled and responded....

"People at school are being nicer to me. I think I've become stronger since I know Jumi senpai will always be by my side."

Jumi smiled kindly and responded....

"That's great."

Misa quickly saw a bottle of stars and glitter on Jumi's desk. She brought it up and said...

"Wahhhh... This is so beautiful. Did someone make it for you senpai?"

Jumi responded with a smile....

"Someone collected them from the sky for me on my 9th birthday."

"That is so romantic. Eh??? There is only one pink star in here. There must be a meaning behind this. The one who gave you this must be someone very important to senpai, right?"

Jumi walked toward the opened window....

"You're right. He is very important to me."

Jumi responded and looked at the brightest star in the sky.....

24th December....

During lunch break, Jumi walked into the school hall while looking at a piece of paper which listed names of the school club. She had been thinking for a few days to decide on a club to join. Finally, she made a decision. After registering, she walked out of a club and accidentally met someone.....

"Jumi senpai!"

"Hey Misa!"

Misa had a look at the door of the room that Jumi had just walked out. She spoke out...........

"Senpai! you're in piano club??"

"Yeah What about you?"

"I joined the cooking club earlier. I saw your performance once on the festival day. You're really talented."

Jumi smiled and responded.....

"Thank you! But I'm not that good."

Having been walking for quite a while, Jumi and Misa went pass the basketball club. Jumi spoke up....

"It's quite crowded over there."

"You're right! Senpai! Why don't we go and have a look?"

Without having a chance to replied, Jumi was dragged into the basketball club. After trying really hard to go through the crowd, Misa and Jumi finally realize what was happening. A group of guys were playing ball along the screaming of the girls who were watching. Misa spoke out.....

"Ahhhh... Joon senpai and Kei senpai are in the basketball club. That's why it's so crowded over here."

Joon and Kei seemed more stand-out than other players. Suddenly, Kei saw Jumi who had been standing in the middle of the crowd. He shouted happily....

"JUMI!!!"

Jumi was a bit surprised. She looked at Kei who was smiling and waving at her. Jumi was even more surprised as the girls turned and looked straight at her in the eyes of jealousy. Jumi accidentally met Joon's eyes which were staring at her expressionlessly. Jumi looked at Kei and smiled back at him....

As they continued playing, Misa and Jumi got out of there. When they were heading to class, Misa decided to ask Jumi about Kei.....

"Senpai! You and Kei senpai are dating?"

Jumi quickly responded....

"Misa! Me and Kei are good friends. Nothing more than that."

"Is that so? But when Kei senpai was staring at you earlier, you didn't seem to be a friend to him at all. I can see that through his eyes."

Jumi couldn't think of any other issues since her head was filled with the picture of Joon's expressionless face.

"Hmmmm.... The break time is already over. I'm heading to class now. Goodbye Misa! Have a good time tonight!"

Misa replied with a smile.....

"Thank you senpai! You too!"

Jumi headed to class with an empty feeling. As the class was over, Jumi went to the piano club in order to get to know other members. After self-introducing, the other members left the club early since they had to prepare for Christmas's Eve. There was only Jumi left in the room. She walked toward a white piano by the window. She took a seat and opened it slowly. She played "My memory" beautifully. As the song was going on, a teardrop dropped on the piano key. Jumi kept playing with tears all over her face. As the song was over, she grabbed her bag and stood up. She palpated the piano slightly before closing it and walked out of the room. It was the late evening and the hallway was so quiet since all the students had already left. As Jumi was walking, she kept hearing footsteps behind her. She had a feeling that someone was following her. She tried to walk faster but she was shocked as someone spoke out....

"Why are you walking alone in the hallway at this late hour?"

Jumi turned around.....

"Joon!!! I... I... just had something to do in the club."

"Ahh... I see! You shouldn't be alone at school at this hour. It's dangerous."

"Yeah... I know. I'm leaving now. Good bye Joon! Enjoy your time with Misa."

"Eh? How do you know I'm going to be with Misa?"

Jumi realized she had made the slip of her tongue. She responded.....

"Ahhh... She... she told me about that."

"Is that so?"

Joon's face turned disappointed without any reasons. He continued.....

"You too. Have a great time with Kei."

"Thank you! Goodbye Joon!"

End of talking, Jumi walked away with a broken heart. She kept telling herself not to cry though the tears had already been flowing on her both cheeks.....

Jumi was walking alone along the street which was covered in snow. Everywhere was decorated with beautiful light and Christmas tree. Everyone seemed to be having so much fun. The smile on their face showed the happiness as they were with people they love on this special occasion. As she arrived home, Jumi took off her shoes and walked into the living room.......

"Welcome back Jumi!"

Jumi was sort of surprised with the decoration and the food on the table. Her mother smiled at her and said....

"Merry Christmas, my little girl!"

Jumi's eyes became teary. She ran toward her mother and hugged her tightly......

"Merry Christmas, Mum!"

She said it and burst into tears....

"Why are you crying, you silly child?"

Her mum said with a smile....

"I'm not crying, mum! I'm just too happy."

Jumi's mother is a businesswoman. Since Jumi's father passed away, she has to work and raise Jumi alone. Because of work, she doesn't really have much time for Jumi. Going out to work in the morning and coming back home late at night are her habit. Jumi spends Christmas every year all alone. That's why she was so excited as her mum was there to celebrate with her..........................

"Hello Kei! I might be a littly bit late. So you can go to the town first. I will go on the next line train."

Kei replied...

"Eh? Why? I can wait for you."

"Ahhh... I'm having a little party with my mum. I can't let you wait for me. You should go and have fun first, ok?"

Kei smiled a bit and responded....

"I see! Alright... Have fun with your mum, Jumi! I'll see you at the town."

"OK... good luck Kei."

Kei hung up his phone and walked toward the train...

"She's always like that, always worrying about other people."

As Jumi hung up the phone, her mum spoke up.....

"Jumi! Your friend must be waiting for you. You should go."

Jumi smiled and replied....

"But mum! I wanna be with you a little bit longer."

A moment later, as Jumi already had a fun dinner with her mother, she dressed up and got ready to go to the train station. She put on a pink coat, dragged her bag and came downstair.

"My Jumi is so beautiful."

There was a smile on Jumi's beautiful non-make up face. She hugged her mother.....

"Mum! I love you!"

"I love you too my little girl. Have fun with your friend and be careful."

"I know! Goodbye mum!"

Jumi smiled and left. Her mum had been watching over her until she disappeared from her sight.

"Be strong, Jumi!"

Jumi finally arrived at the train station. As she was waiting for the train, someone walked toward the bench, where she was sitting. Jumi looked up as someone was smiling at her.....

"What a coincidence!!!"
